pro/cons to using a tv as a monitor for gaming?

Solution
If the resolution is the same as the monitor, then the pros is that the TV is generally larger in screen size. Resolution may also be a pros.

Cons - unless you are making the TV as your primary monitor, it can be a pain to hook it up to the TV every time you want to play a game. You may have to move your keyboard and mouse unless you use a controller.

But there's not much pros/cons over a monitor. It's definitely easier to set up multi-display gaming on monitors over TVs.

Them new smart TVs.. all ya do is hit a button on the remote.. there is no switching cables.. easy and simple.. my twenty three inch is big enough for game play.. having life sized figures blasting away on team fortress.. would be kind of nuts... I'm sure I could get use to that thrill ride.. haha

He listed pros now I'll list cons.

Tv = big
Monitor = small
If the resolution is the same then u have less ppi (pixels per inch). This in turn let's you see the pixels which means it's is slightly blurred to you. Of course all this can be fixed by moving farther away so this is a pretty small con.

Biggest con is frame rates and response time. Generally tvs are 30 fps and have 10+ ms of response time so your competitiveness will be quiet a bit lower.

Of course if nothing in this wall of text bothers you then by all means go tv.
