For the benefit of the rec.arts.drwho side of the cross-post: Cheddar Gorge
is one of the games regularly played on the Radio 4 show "I'm Sorry I
Haven't a Clue."
It's one of the many popular games named after a combination of a place and
a foodstuff. Others include Sugar Loaf Mountain (in which players race to
climb a giant loaf of bread and sprinkle in with sugar), Black Forest Gateau
(where the object of the game is to make a cake out of leaves, twigs and
bark), and Chicken Madras (which has been banned by the RSPB).
The object of Cheddar Gorge is to make a long run-on sentence by adding one
word at a time. And what better way to pass the months until the new series
of Doctor Who than by playing a DW-themed game of Cheddar Gorge? Well, lots
of ways probably. But we're going to do it this way and that's that. So
there!
Ok, I'll start with the time-honoured opening: --
