What specific problem or problems is the webcam having?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS.

By "pro series webcam" do you mean the Logitech product line?

Any manufacturer/model information on the camera?

There may be more information via Device Manager.

The webcam check keeps telling me there is another program using the cam, it was good as gold until early this year and when we went to use it recently it was not working
We had to do a system repair at the beginning of the year, When we got the dreaded blue screen
I am up to date with all updates for windows and the graphics card.
The only drivers I have in device manager are HP generic webcam drivers.
I seem to recall there were 2 sets of webcam drivers at one stage, but not any more.

I had a wee search and found the Sonix 5 18.121.3.6 speedlink reflect 2 looked like the camera but the drivers didnt do anything
The camera was really good until it all turned to custard
