Probably a dumb question. Changing slots.

So I've always had 4 memory modules, but I recently switched to 2 x 2GB. I have an Asus P5B Deluxe and I put the memory in the first yellow/black slot. Thus i am only running single channel. I'd like to move one over to the other yellow to run dual mode, but will I have to reformat to do that? Question is can i move the modules around and not lose anything? thanks

I believe angry_ducky means to say "yes, you can move the modules around and not lose anything" rather than "yes, you will have to reformat". The former is true, the latter is false.

moving around ram modules wont require you to reformat. the only component that would really require a reformat would be the motherboard.
