I am trying to add another 4 gb of ram to make total of 8gb. I am running a q9300 with a Asus Maximus II mb. I just installed a new copy of Win 7 pro last week. I tried to add another 4gb of ram last night and the BIOS sees the ram, but when its starts to load windows it blue screens and reboots. The RAM kit is a different manufacter but same size and speeds. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I tried a few things just now. I tried moving my existing chips to different slots and that still causes the comp to blue screen and crash. I also tried just using the two new chips in the slots that the old ones were in and that works just fine. The main thing that bothers me is that i can not even use dual channel because the only slots that i can get to work on not on the same channel so my RAM is apparently running at half speed. Is this a windows 7 issue or a MB issue i can not seem to figure out.
