Hi everyone,
After fixing the config/system file with hiren's boot 15.2 ,the OS satrted normaly
and everything seem to be ok, I tried to run a program and the program started to run.
But, after a few minuts the PC has reset itself and then i saw the known error: a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart.
but, after a few restarts the OS sarted to run again( the eeror message keep on coming in few restarts over) and even passed the system recovery
but when I tried to enter the same programs as before the error message the OS said that i dont have the right privelege to do that or, the system cant find the exe file.
i found myself the file but still dont work...
i tried to get into the dos programs on Hirens but nothing happned..
my guess is that the disc have bad sectors or somthing..
anybody know what i can do or tell my if the HD is lost for sure..?
Thanks!!

What using the WINDOWS\System32\config/system file does is restore the registry to the date of the system file.. if you didn't use the other files in config; (default, sam, security, and software) that probably caused the problem.... but you can revert the fix manually if you backed up the "system" file, or you can use the "RegResWiz" tool in the Hiren's CD to restore the Registry to a normal working state if the application detects a date to restore to. Procedure: (HBCD program launcher\Programs\Registry\Registry Restore Wizard\select C:\WINDOWS with the appropriate date\Next\"Fix the registry to that of a working state"\Next\select the date\Next\& Restart the computer). The Registry Restore Wizard uses the registry backups in Config so it does correctly what you tried to do, and does it automatically... use it to revert the problem but if System Restore is working and you have a appropriate restore point, use that instead.
