Problem after installing win xp sp3

I installed Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 but after install it cant detect my ethernet cable .

So in device manager it shows yellow question mark on Ethernet Controller .

Can anyone help please ?

Have you installed the Ethernet driver?

If the ethernet is built onto the motherboard then find your motherboard CD.

I havent installed ethernet driver because i dont have net for that pc

You have a choice:

A) That PC never gets net access because the driver isn't installed so you can't go online and get the driver

B) You use another PC to get the driver from the Internet and put it on a USB stick or CD-RW and physically tote it over to the relic.

Or you will need to borrow or use a library computer or a friends pc. Someone must have a pc that you can use or borrow.

Again if that what matches for the model type of your motherboard then yes that should work fine.

Its old Lenovo timecentre machine and i just now tried to find motherboard number but couldnt find it .
model is mt-m 8808-cto.

Edit: Just transfered that driver to my machine and tried to install it but it said "Intel R Network adapter not present on this computer" .

Ok , I installed it as the instructions said on that site but nothing really changed at all . Installation was fine but same yellow q mark still occurs in Device manager .

Hard to say what's wrong. An option would be installing a PCI network adapter, if PCI slot available.
