I have got dual monitors both monitors work and they both connect by hdmi the only problem is one is connected to my gpu and one is connected to my motherboard and only the monitor that is connected to the gpu works and is detected
please help me ive been at this for 3 days with no avail
specs:
motherboard: Gigabyte GA‑Z77‑HD3 ATX Motherboard ‑ LGA1155 Socket
cpu: intel i7 3770k 3.40GHZ
gpu : asus amd-radeon-hd-7850-2gb

Solution
Under one of those tabs is a setting for multiple monitors. Default is off (this means when you add the gpu, the igpu is disabled). Not sure exactly which one, it changes according to bios and vendor.

Easiest solution is to go into your bios, look under the video settings tab and enable multi-monitor mode. Save, reboot. In windows, go under display settings and enable extended desktop and choose which monitor is #1 and which is #2. #1 will be primary After windows loads. The monitor that boots will be decided by the bios, could be either, it's no big deal.
