Hello All!

In a bid to make my small home office setup completely wireless without compromising on the data transfer speed i invested in a hi speed router, 3 wireless adapters & 2 set of wireless mouse keyboard combo.

I am now regretting my decision as i have been failed miserably. Inspite of buying so expensive gadgets i am getting speed as slow as what i used to get with my basic Belkin G Wireless router which is much much cheaper as compared to this Asus product which claims data transfer rate upto 600 Mbps! Asus adapter utility shows fluctuating speed between 65 to 110 Mbps where as actual data transfer rate is around 4 to 5 Mbps only...

Products that i purchased from amazon on 19th July are

1- Asus AC1900 RT AC68U Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router (Black) ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00FB45SI4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01 )

2- Asus USB-AC55 Dual-band Wireless-AC1300 USB 3.0 Wi-Fi Adapter ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00VRTVIOU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01 )

3- Asus AC600 USB AC51 Dual-Band Wireless Wi-Fi Adapter (Black) ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00HM0K61Y?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 )

4- ASUS Wireless-N150 USB Nano Adapter ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00LB3NKCA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 )

5- Logitech MK345 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo (Black) ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00PFFCMV0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 )

6- Logitech Wireless mk270r Keyboard and Mouse Set ( http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00CEQEGPI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01 )

My PC configuration is -

Motherboard- Asus Sabertooth X79
Processor- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU@3.20 GHz
OS- Windows 7 64 bit ( OS is Up to date )

Problem that i am facing after connecting wirelessly to my router via asus adapters are-

1- Utility shows only 2.4 Ghz i.e No 5 Ghz Channel..
2- After installing Asus adapter driver my wireless mouse & keyboard start hanging & sometimes it detects only either mouse or keyboard..
3- My USB3 ports becomes unusable i.e no pendrive or any device is functional via these ports.. even asus adapters are not detected!

What i have tried so far-

1- Upgrading router firmware
2- Upgrading adapters driver
3- Formatting & reinstalling windows

Please note, My router is not more thn 4.5m and there is absolutely nothing between them i.e no walls of any kind.. & Operating system in all my PCs are updated till date.

On my 3 desktops, all 3 adapters are showing excellent 2.4Ghz signal strength but no 5Ghz..

On my Google Nexus5 Phone it shows both 5Ghz & 2.4 Ghz channels

On My HP Pavilion 15-ab034TX Notebook with Windows 8.1 OS it shows 2.4 Ghz signal only i.e no 5Ghz.

Current status-

I have posted same details to ASUS, awaiting response.

Solution
The drivers for those Asus USB adapters have had a lot of issues. But usually with Windows 8 or 10. Since you are still windows 7, I don't have an explanation.

Hello!
Thank you for your support. I did as you instructed, It shows 5Ghz channel now but i am not able to use it as it disconnects very frequently.. i.e 2-3 times with in a minute. Also signal strength is very weak.. just 2 or sometime 3 bars. My router is hardly 5 mtr and there is absolutely no wall in between. Just wondering why is this channel so unstable? Thanks

OKAY after using it for 2 months here is the latest update-
After changing frequency to lower i.e 36/40/44/48 i am now getting 5GHz channel.. And for frequent disconnection- i noticed this 5 GHz channel will disconnect & reconnect if wireless mouse keyboard adapter is very close to the wifi network adapter & the mouse keyboard will hang while transferring any data over wireless network! .. i am not sure if this problem is only with this particular router, adapter & keyboard combination.. it could be same with any brand too.. As of now, after moving both adapters away from each other i am getting uninterrupted 5Ghz channel
