Hi, I have an old Sony Handycan DCR- TRV22E.

Just bought Homestech VHS to DVD 5.0 HD pack to download the old tapes to my computer, but cannot get it to work properly

Using the S Video connection and the jack from the camcorder to the red and white connectors I can only get the picture to work sometimes only in black and white, sound is crackled and cannot be heard.

The cables are new so they should not be the fault.

The sound is okay on the camcorder so I know it is not this.

Any ideas.

Jon

BTW, u don't have iLink a.k.a. firewire on your computer? That would be much easier thing to do. Thats all u would need to transfer the video without any need of that Homestech VHS to DVD 5.0 HD.

Thanks, I do have the red and white connections in place but sound is just noise, cannot hear anything but crackle.

Have tried to use the transfer via other means but not identifying my camcorder.

I will check the PAL setting re the B&W picture - thanks.
