I've been having problems installing windows 2000. whenever i try to install it, it copies the files fine, but when i restart, it checks the memory and the cdroms, then when it goes to the the next screen it says "Verifying DMI pool" or something i can't remember (this is normal) but then it freezes there and i can't get into windows or anything. anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

Hey CoolChris,

Have you updated the BIOS recently?, had a similar problem with an FIC board (VIA chipset and K62 CPU), after I updated to the latest BIOS Win2k installed 1st time!.

Regards

Simon

yeah i just updated the bios a few days before i tried to install.

On the outside it sounds like a firmware/BIOS issue. Make sure all firmware is updated (if possible.) I've seen disk controllers with older firmware cause the exact same problem.

I'm assuming everything you're running is cool with the HCL?
