I have a homebuilt desktop and it's quite new, but I'm having problems installing certain applications to it.
I know it's not a network problem because I tried to download my GPU drivers from a CD and I kept getting 7-Zip: Data error or 7-Zip: CRC error. I managed to download them after a few tries.
I have no problem with smaller file downloads. I managed to download and install Unity just fine, but I'm getting CRC errors while installing 3Ds Max.
I also have problems with downloading games that are bigger than 5GB from Steam.
Sometimes I've also gotten an error saying that there is not enough space on my hard drive or my cabinet file it corrupt.
Things that I have tried:
Opening files with WinRar,
Running MemTest86, SMART, CHKDSK (everything was fine)
Moving RAM modules from a slot to another.
My computer is not overclocked and I have about 800GB of free space on my HDD
RAM: 2x 4GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Windows 8.1 pro
Any kind of help would be appreciated,
Thank you.
