Hello! I am looking to get a good replacement for my current GPU. It's mostly okay but I've saved enough now to get a reasonable upgrade.

My current card is fine apart from once or twice a month the driver will crash (the screen will freeze/flash pink with artifacts) and it will either recover on it's own or it won't and I'll have to reboot my computer. I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot why this keeps happening (uninstall/reinstall software/hardware, update drivers, check connections). It's a GTX 750Ti that I've had since early 2015. It's served me well but there are times when I could use something better.

Few things:
-Is there anything else I could try before getting a replacement?
-I'd like to get a best-fit card that will play nice with my other components (see below). Not sure if it's a thing, but I'd like to avoid getting something that would make the other parts work too hard and possibly fail.
-I'm not a super huge gaming enthusiast but would be open to hearing other recommendations to change any other existing parts.
-Ideally, I'd like a something that performs better than my current GPU while not being an issue for the other parts to work together with it.
-If there's a suitable card that I can upgrade to but will work best by replacing 1 or 2 other parts (limitations of CPU, PSU, etc?), I'd be open to that as well
-Price range is $300-$400

Your dual core CPU will be limiting any card much past the 750 Ti in quite a few games.

Since you are looking at about a $400 upgrade I'd get a Core i5-4460, and an nVidia GTX 950. Just make sure you update your BIOS. Or wait a bit till the new generation lower end nVidia cards are out and look at those.

As far as testing your 750 Ti further, try with a clean Windows setup, try it in another system.
