I have an ASRock Z97 Extreme6 and Intel [Edit i7-4790k] CPU.

Trying to install it, the black plastic cover came off the CPU cover, and I had it open, put the CPU in, and the door and lever won't shut and secure the CPU.

The lever won't even go down - a couple times I got it to go down, but when I did, the cover was loose and not securing the CPU at all. The CPU is the right orientation.

Even if I remove the CPU the lever only goes half down. Any ideas?

i7-4790k. Yes, the triangles are matched, as I said it's oriented right. I've tried jiggling every which way and it just won't secure - the only way the lever will go down is if the cover is on top of the post it should be under.

My concern of course is, if I push it down too hard and break it, I've ruined a $160 motherboard.

I'll watch the video... I don't see them having to push so hard.

Well, I guess it's solved. I finally did force it as carefully as I could and it worked. In the pic that's as far as it would go easily.
