I'm having a problem getting a Hauppauge WinTV 150MCE TV tuner card to install and would appreciate any ideas. After the hardware is discovered by XP and I proceed with the install, it always hangs the PC and I have to power off. I’ve tried all of the following: moved the card to all other PCI slots, used the latest drivers (tried both 150MCE and non-MCE), updated
the BIOs, turned off as much as I could within the BIOs, took out the video card and tried another, unplugged as much as I could see on MOBO e.g. cd drive, network card, went into System Config and did a selective start up -- all with the same result – hangs on install. The only “success” I’ve had is I can install it ok under safe mode, but on reboot Windows hangs. I then have to reboot into safe mode again and disable it. The card installs ok in another PC.
Does anyone have a Hauppauge WinTV 150MCE card in this motherboard and did you have to do anything special to get it to work. If not this exact card any other Wintv cards?? Have been trying for months to get it to work....Thanks

Also, don't count on Hauppauge technical support to help if you run into problems, they ignore your emails.

Did you try manually applying the drivers? Right click on my computer select properties. Go to hardware tab then device manager. Right lick on the yellow question mark then select update driver. Make it search cd rom drives. Make sure you put the provided cd into the cd rom drive first. I have the same tv tuner card, Asus a8n deluxe, and windows media center 2005. Hope that works. If not I would rin a chkdsk /r /p command in dos (you must boot off win xp cd and select r for repair first).
