This is a brand new build just got parts delivered two days ago. I've got it all put together, but when I boot up the monitor ends up with a no signal on it then goes into sleep mode. Tried connections, taken out gpu, I can only use dvi connector because the gpu doesn't have vga. I'm sure others have had this problem, I just need a little direction on what steps people normally take, I appreciate any suggestions.

Asus p5n32-sli se deluxe

C2D E6600

Xfx 7950 GX2

2GBs corsair ddr2 800

Viewsonic vx922 dvi cable only.

If you can not make it work with the parts you have, then you need spare parts to test with. I would start by rechecking all the connectors from the power supply (video card 6 pin and CPU 4 pin in particular) and definately get a different monitor to test with. Test with a VGA capable monitor. HTH.

Hi, i too am having the same problem, but when i turn the computer off and reboot again the monitor comes on, weird if u ask me im hoping its not the video card as that was the most expensive part. I even took apart the system and put it back together, but no joy. im a first timer here so any help u could give would be awsome, that yuo :)

Welcome. List all your specs (system parts) and describe the symptoms and or problems you are having. There is lots of help to be had. 😀

Cool thxs :) Well it all started when i built a new PC, worked fine for awhile, but then i notice when i went to boot, the PC booted fine like it should, but the the monitor would look for the the signal, then go to standby mode, this happen with 2 differant monitors both samsung, one CRT(old one) Now im using 19" samsung LCD DVI connectors. When i took apart the system, put it back together it was all good, but then it started again, so to get the monitor on now i have to power down, reboot, then the monitor comes on. SPECS: Infinity 500watt SLI, Abit KN8 SLI mobo, AMD 4400 x2, PNY 7900GTX 512, x2 512 Kingston Duel Channel Ram. Hope that helps, thx u for your time :)

A lot of ppl having problems booting up C2D build. It is most of the time simple things invoving CPU or memory.
My case I had a bad CPU connection somehow. Reinstalled CPU and HSF and nothing else. You should get a beep with only the processor. If you don't, your processor is not properly connected or a problem in the motherboard.
When you boot the computer it checks for CPU, memory, then GPU.
You can place one at a time and expect beeps and then find problems as you go.

Ok thxs, ill try that, im thinking something might be wrong with the mobo. But i dont want to get a new one cause i want to upgrade to AMD2 some time soon, but waiting on the new CPU to come out, but anyway, thx u for your time. CHEERS!! (LOL no, i wasnt drunk putting my PC together, i already ruled that out, :) )

I would do this. Right click on desktop>properties>settings>advanced>monitor>set to 60 hertz. Then I would download and install the latest video driver here. If that didn't solve the problem I would think about trying a differeent power supply. Your video card requires a lot of power from a healthy PSU. I have the exact PSU you have and it works great.

Yea, your true there about power, u can always use more. As far as drivers, those i always keep up to date, but good call, some people forget on that one becoming a problem down the road, i switch to 60 refresh rate, see what happens there, gonna look into 550-600 watt psu, thxs again :)

Did your problem begin after you installed your operating system? In other words, when you first booted up your computer without the OS, did the power failure symptoms, blank screen appear? Your OS could have some corrupted files, especially if you have used registry cleaner software. Your problem may be software related. Reinstall the OS and system drivers if all else fails.

MOBO: Asus p5n32-sli se deluxe

CPU: E6600

Ram: Corsair xms2 ddr 800

GPU: XFX 7950 GX2

PSU: PC P&C 610 watt

Monitor: Viewsonic vx922 19" 2ms

SC: X-fi Platinum

HD1: WD Raptor 74gbs

HD2: WD Caviar 250gbs

Optical: Samsung 48x dvd/rw

Floppy: Samsung

I havn't even installed the OS yet, the monitor reads "no signal" on boot. I booted it about three times and it has reached the beginning of the bios shit, but then sputters and freezes. Then about twenty more boots I get nothing but "no signal" on monitor.
Does this Mobo support ddr-800, my buddy read the manual it said it's highest 667mhz and 533mhz. The monitor has dvi and vga connections but, the GPU only has dvi connections?

I built the ASUS p5n32-sli se deluxe last week. 800 mhz. RAM i compatible on that board. My suggestion is to get an adapter and hook the video card to your screns VGA connector. If your power supply is new and untested, you might try a different PSU in there, one you know is good.

Dont think so cause it was all good then it started to happen out of no ware, seems after i take apart the system and rebuilt its all good, then it starts to happen, but i do use cmdisk cleaner, for now i guess ill have to deal with it untill i built something new or figure what the problem is, im thinking something might be wrong with the mobo, but im not an expert, but for all u trying to help thx u much :)
