Hi

I thought I would give pc games a try on my 50 inch pioneer plasma tv but having problems, everything else works fine in windows but when I try to boot a game it either just stops or gives a message like cant start 3d acceleration, the two games I have tried are World of Warcraft and Battlefield bad company 2.

I have intel core 2 6700 cpu
4gb ram
windows xp
radeon hd4770

and all latest drivers

Any ideas on how to fix it so they play?

Thanks

I am having same problem when using hd4650 on tv. Game just stopped. Then i use my monitor as primary display and tv as secondary, and no problem exist. I open two game on two display running same time, no problem, just little bit slow. Use two display on your card. Just give a try. It may help. Set duplicate display in screen resolution for playing one game in both display.

I'm not sure that card can sustain games like BFBC2 at that resolution...i'm assuming you're playing at 2560x1600? Check this out:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446-13.html

It's the 5770 review, but look at the 4770 on the chart (and read the explanation below it)

Windows XP is one thing (even windows 7 runs on 40-60 MB of GRAM), games are another. My 9600GT was giving me around 40-60 fps at 1024x768 with 4x AA, 16x AF, while playing BC2.

If you'll read through the review, you'd see that the 4770 does manage to play the other games, but fails in one (or some, i didn't go through everything). BC2 and Warcraft may just be those games it can't take.

And a 50-inch screen must be torture for a 4770. Try running it at a lower resolution.

@ ojas, but i am getting same error when playing crysis @ 1024x768 res in tv, but Cod:MW2 and tomb raider: underworld running well in that low res. So i dont think resolution is the problem.

I set the battlefield to same res as my tv (1280x800) on a monitor and it worked fine after that and is very playable, havent tried warcraft yet but im guessing that is the issue.

Do you use both tv and monitor together?

"orbital"...I have an XFX Radeon HD4770 and playing this game fine at my monitor's max resolution(1680 x 1050) on medium settings NO PROBLEM, so the card isn't too weak. I find this card is so underrated...beats out alot of cards that are supposedly stronger.
