My friend just got battlefield 4 and he is having problems running it. He says that all he sees is a white screen and the minimap. I'm tryingto help him solve the issue but i don't know where to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The only thing I know for sure is that he has a Dell that he bought recently, and it has an i3. No dedicated GPU, only integrated. And he was trying to use his Dual shock 3.
If he has an i3 with integrated graphics and he was trying to run BF4 then your friend is trying to do the impossible. BF4 is a really CPU and GPU intensive game, there is no way that it will function properly with Intel HD Graphics. This must be the reason he was experiencing the white screens.
I ran the Beta on my i5/integrated as a test and got 30+fps on medium 720p. I also ran Planet side 2 on my laptop before I built a PC, it had an i7/integrated, it ran it at about 10fps which is unplayable and I will not argue otherwise but it did still run. If the integrated graphics was the issue he wouldn't get a white screen, he would get a slide show.
He is planning a PC upgrade soon though.
Edit: unless of course bf4 has an anti-low end PC blocker of some sort which I would assume would have an error message at least.
