Problem running games on 98SE.

I still had some old PC parts in the garage from a build back in 2004 and threw this rig together and got Windows 98SE along with the autopatcher up and running.
Asus A78NX
Amd Athlon XP 2500+
512MB Ram
Geforce 5900 128MB

I am having some problems with some games though (Win95?) and it seems rather weird that they would not work. Theme Hospital won't play videos and screen goes black. Jane's Longbow 2 and F-15 both go black and kick to the desktop when you go to actually fly.

Yet other games Like Star wars E:1 Racer, Jane's USAF, SimCity 2000, Railroad tycoon 2, C&C red alert.. all work fine. Could it be a problem with my DX9 card not liking some older 3d or Win95 games?

Have one of those A7N8X boards running Win98se here. As you may know, they are NForce2 board? Which version NForce2 all in one driver are you running?

And yes, you may be having issues with Win95 games on DirectX 9. I believe the last compatible was DirectX 8.0a.

For Nforce2, I believe I have version 4.27 and I was running the forceware 81.98 for the GPU. I found a disc that had some older (by 2 months, 7X.XX) drivers on it and that seemed to help sort out a couple games. I am currently looking at some DX8 and DX7 cards on ebay.
