I've a G550 laptop and wanted to upgrade its Ram from 3GB to 6GB, according to the manual it supports 2x SODIMM up to 8GB Max DDR3, 800/1066MHz..

I bought a 4GB 1600MHz ram, according to your advice here that it'll work on my laptop without any problem.

I've just plugged it on my laptop with the 2GB 1066MHz, powered the laptop, but it doesn't boot, the screen doesn't open, only the power lid flash.

What can I do now..?!

What memory did you buy? because your laptop is old, the newer RAM may or may not be compatible with your laptop.
When you buy the RAM for old laptop/PC, recommend to use the memory finder/advisor to find the RAM, don't just buy one you can find. Like http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/lenovo-g550/CT5297835
You may try just use the new RAM to boot the laptop, if you have the same problem, and that means the RAM is not compatible with your laptop, lenovo G550.

Sorry for the late reply but I couldn't use a laptop since then.

I've bought Team Ram:

My laptop's original ram was "Sharetronic", I've exchanged that 4GB Team with another "Sharetronic" 2GB 1600MHz & it seems to work fine so far.

I'll try to check that Crucial Ram, it's sold here but I don't know if it's the same or not:

Thanks for your help.
