[SOLVED] Problem with 1TB Seagate 7200 12 Drive

The drive is probably failing because it started to disappear from my computer.Then i realized that its a good idea to start backing the drive.I started backing it up in linux with gddrescue but yesterday when i tried to resume the backup the drive started to mount and dismount from the system.I have a log of the dmesg command in linux can anyone tell me whats wrong with the drive by the log ?

Unfortunately, starting to back up a hard drive after it starts having problems is a bit like giving up smoking after you get lung cancer.

Have you tried different cables/ports? If you still can't get it to stick, I'd consider putting it in a small enclosure.

sorry to hear that your drive is starting to fail.

Which basic troubleshooting-steps have you already tried? We would like to recommend you to change the cables and ports. Can you, if possible, connect the drive to another PC?

I tried other cables and ports and different pc. Same result, the weird thing is that the drive doesnt make weird sounds and spins up normally i dont know why it mounts and dismounts in linux like that.

Unfortunately, starting to back up a hard drive after it starts having problems is a bit like giving up smoking after you get lung cancer.

Have you tried different cables/ports? If you still can't get it to stick, I'd consider putting it in a small enclosure.
