Hello

I bought a used ASrock Wolfdale1333-D667 Motherboard for my core 2 duo 3GH 6MB cash it gave me 6.5 on windows CPU rating.

After I shut down the PC I noticed that the external HD is still working, I changed the usb port and found that all ports still have power while the pc is off.

Only way to stop power from usb is to unplug the power cable.

I can’t return it to the seller.

Is there any way to fix it or make a test to find the problem?
Thanks

It's not faulty. Some motherboards keep the USB ports "live" when PC is off, this means you can charge a cellphone etc, without turning PC on. It won't do any harm but if it bothers you, switch off the PSU with it's rocker-switch after shut down. That can get annoying though because you'll keep forgetting to switch it back on.

There's probably a BIOS setting which "kills" the USB ports at shut down so go through your ASRock manual and check.

Thanks Philip for your information, You was right that some motherboards have this feature.

After reading the motherboard manual i found a PS2 switch that is responsible for the USB power, just changing the jumper and my problem fixed.

Have a good day.
