Problem with Asus GTX 1070 Turbo

So, after finally taking the plunge and buying a 1070 I cannot for the life of me get it to be recognised by my PC. I'm not the most PC savvy person but I like to think I have an idea of what I am doing. Anyway, the card is on and powered, blowing amazing amounts of cold air out but it is not detected at all in the BIOS or device manager. I've reseated my RAM, tried different PCIE slots, changed the settings in my BIOS referring to PCIE X16 speed (Gen 3) and the primary driver (Changing it to PCIE). I've had problems with 2 faulty GTX 970s which were determined to be DOA by the retailer and I thought upgrading to a more modern card would help things be simpler. Any advice is appreciated as I don't have any other rig to test it and I live hours away from the store that I bought it from. Thank you

Intel i5 3570k
GAMMAXX 400 Cooler
G.Skill 2x4GB Ripjaws RAM
XFX TS550 (Gold+ Rated)
Hitatchi 1TB HDD
Toshiba 500GB HDD
Asus P8Z77 V LX2 motherboard
and of course Asus GTX 1070 Turbo 8GB

Are you on the newest version of the bios and have you tried clearing the CMOS? Also I'd try another output port if you can, every once in a while a card ships with a dead dvi port or something.

ive updated my bios and cleared the CMOS. I have tried both DVI and both of the HDMI ports so unfortunately I dont think that is the issue 🙁 Thanks for your input though, i appreciate it

Is it even posting and moving to windows if you put the cable in the card or does it just cycle? Also do you have another computer that belongs to a friend or yourself that you can try it in?

Yeah, the system is posting and I can get through to Windows but it wont display through the card, to get a display I have to plug in D-Sub on my motherboard so its not being detected at all. I don't have another system or a friends system to try it on unfortunately :\

Well that kinda sucks then. I had a problem similar to this once with an HD 7870 and what I had to do was disable the integrated graphics, set the primary display to PCI 1 and restart it over and over again until it finally detected the card (Took ~8 tries). Might be worth a try and you can reset the CMOS to enable the integrated graphics again. Otherwise if you're sure that your PSU isn't bad and another card works in the same slot, it has to be the 1070 or some weird software issue with the mobo. Seems hard to believe that you could be unlucky but I guess it has to happen to someone.

Okay I will try and get it tested at the store in case it needs to be RMA'd or if I need to get a new mobo. Thanks for your help
