Hello All

Have just built up my new computer and I have my Windows 11 ready to install (CD). Windows 11 installation starts, but it stops and tells me that my computer isn't compatible for installation. So, off into BIOS:
- CMS is disabled
- Secure Boot is enabled BUT shown as "inactive".

Side note: both options were like that from the first, I didn't have to change anything.

I wanted to try the solutions I saw in other threads about same issue, but I can't, because it tells me that "Secure Boot is locked down". And no matter how many times I restart, it remains locked down.

So, here I am, watching my beautiful new computer and its beautiful BIOS that I can't use.

Can anyone help me before I start crying?

Thanks in advance

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model if you're recycling the unit. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Where did you source the installer for your OS? Have you tried enabling CSM and then seeing if that unlocks the option for Secure Boot to be disabled?

Sorry, below my hardware:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
CPU cooler: Corsair CPC Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650E A Elite X ICE (B650,AM5,ATX,DDR5)
Ram: Kingston 64GB DDR5 6000MT/S CL30 DIMM (2 x 32GB, 6000 MHz, RAM DDR5, DIMM)
SSD/HDD: Samsung 990 Pro (2000 Go, M.2 2280)
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G GAMING X SLIM (16 Go)
PSU: CORSAIR RM850X
Chassis: Fractal Pop XL Air RGB

The source for my OS is the same shop where I also purchased the hardware. It's no OEM version, it's standard Windows 11 Home.

I had not tried to enable CSM. I did it now. Once back into BIOS, I did disable CSM again. Secure Boot now appears same than before: enabled and inactive, but at least, I can change Secure Boot Mode for example, what I couldn't do before. So it seems it's no more locked down.

What shall I do from here?

Sorry for double posting, just to inform that I got it! I have now Secure Boot enabled and active, and CSM is by now disabled.

So, I'm off to next problem: windows 11 still doesn't want to install. If I don't find a solution, I will start a new thread because it's a different issue than the one on this thread.

Thanks for the help: the reboot with CSM enabled was the key in my case.
