What is your psu?
Download and use prime95 small ffts torture test for a few hours, and download and use memtest86+ for a few hours. If either of those fail then it will be a hardware problem

corsair 550vx

now i'm almost sure it's hardware. i have two partitions, one with vista and one with xp. i had all those crashed on vista. so i booted xp, played warhammer online for a while, the gfx went crazy for 2 seconds and boom, crashed.

if it were driver related, woulnd't it only happen on one of the partitions?

correct. And it looks like you have an good enough power supply for your system as well (given it could be dying but i doubt that is the issue)

I think the most likely thing is going to be going to be memory issues, followed by either gpu or cpu issues. The first thing you should do is download memtest86+ and run that for a few hours to see if there are any errors

definately run a memtest, after that try swapping your ram (even if it says it is ok)

I had a similar problem with my BFG OC 8800 gtx. I am running Vista Business edition. I swapped my RAM (Crucial RAM even though it was ok) switched to GSKILL and it was all fixed.
