I just cloned my OS from my HDD to my SSD using the Samsung Data Migration software. My problem is that I don't know how to clean my HDD so it contains no files because right now it has Program Files, Program Files x86, Users, Windows and Windows.old. I tried to just delete all the files in the HDD, but it didn't seem to work. Are these files supposed to be in both drives? How can I get this to work ?

Solution

1. Does the system boot properly with only the new SSD connected?
Test this to be 100% sure.

2. Windows commandline, and diskpart is usually needed to wipe that drive fully.
The clean command is what you're looking for.

Be very, very careful which drive you are accessing.

Both my drives are plugged into the computer and I am going to use them both. I also just noticed that the windows logo only appears on the HDD when I look in This PC > Devices and drives. When I booted up my computer it told me that it was going to repair some broken files on one of the drives or something like that. I don't think the cloning worked. What do I do now...

TEST.

Power off
Disconnect the old HDD
Power up.

Does it boot correctly?

I'm now on my computer with only the SSD and the boot up was just normal. Everything is fine.
