HI,
I have 2 1TB HDD, WD and Hitachi, and a DVD Burner. All of them are SATA. I am confused about how to connect them. My MB is Gigabyte H67-MA-D2H(1155 socket). Whenever I connect the HDD or the DVD to another port other than those which are 6GBPS, it doesn't connect. If you check out the pic of my mb, it only connects when I connect them to the white ones. So, how should I connect them?

any advise will help.

The SATA controller for SB and IB chips is built into the chips, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1155. The motherboard OEM decides how it will provide the SATA ports, and whether it will provide auxilliary (Marvel) controllers.

Your problem, if not with the BIOS, is either the CPU having a defective controller, or there being some problem with the motherboard not providing good channels for the SATA II ports.

The way to find out is to substitute in another CPU and see if the SATA ports work, or try out the CPU on a different motherboard.
