Problem with Diablo 2

This is a very strange happening for me now. I had to reinstall the
game on a different pc which I know works with the game. But now I get
error messeges sayiong about maxnumitems or something like that.
anyone know what could be wrong?

That's *usually* a graphics related issue - make sure you have the
latest drivers for your card's chipset. Failing that - try other
settings from the d2vidtest exe - ie try 2d/directdraw instead of d3d
etc

Or if it is an older Nvidia card, try older drivers, 45.23 are
supposed to work well with D2.
