i attempted to make a dual boot setup with my Win11 and Win 7. I made seperate partition ( 100 gb ) on my ssd and used a usb drive for Win 7. Everyting was going just as it should and for Win11 in booted ok just as it should. But on Win7 i didnt get too far....."starting Windows 7" is as far as it got then it freezes. I tried repairing with the USB drive but nothing. Freezes multiple times. Any suggestions would be very welcome .

Windows 7 is not supported by most new hardware anymore.

Search for drivers and slipstream them into the win7 iso to make a new usb with all the drivers, maybe you will be lucky and you will find enough drivers for it to boot.
What kind of drivers do you mean? The windows 7 USB ISO is from April this year

Unless it's an iso for your specific system it doesn't matter how new or old it is.

You have to get the chipset drivers for the motherboard at least, if you only have booted from the usb until now then maybe the pre install drivers for the hard drive as well, those would be ~ 1.4Mb and fit on a floppy to be loaded when the installation prompts you so it recognizes your hard drive.
If you have usb 3 ports on your system make sure to only use usb 2 since win7 doesn't recognize usb 3 by itself.

There seems to be a pile of videos and tutorials on the interwebs to walk through this. I would expect you need to install Win 7 first and then Win 11.

Why do you want to use the no longer supported Win 7 anyway?
Actually I have a couple of not so new but working HP printers which will not run or even install on Windows 11 and according to HP the printers are not supported

If this is the only reason then install the free version of VMware and install windows 7 in an VM.
You won't have to shut down windows 11 to use your printers and if you network the VM to your real system you could probably use the printers as network printers without even having to use win7 it would just have to be running.
