I don't know what to do ! I have an older alienware I'm trying to rehab. When I hook it all up and turn it on it runs and stays running . However I am not getting a signal on a monitor or TV using the dvi ports on computer. On monitor it says no signal and sleeps on TV it just says no signal. There are no VGA ports on this computer only dvi I have even tried a dvi to HDMI adapter to no avail. I suspect maybe the mobo or video cards . Any help is appreciated thank you.

hi bro, i really need help, i have strange issue..
i also asked in many forums but i have not got replied,

its been year with my current monitor "Philips 203v5... " using Dvi to VGA connector,
month ago i had gtx 760 on windows 8.1, everythings were fine, infact monitors also regonised well as in graphics property "philips monitor"
but now, when i got New Asus Gtx 970 strix, everythings working fine in performace, but facing this strange issue,

Whenever my PC monitor gets sleep like in "10 minutes idle or CPU sleep or in Shutdown or just UPS power turn on(without running PC"
it continue says " No Signal-Check Your Cables" instead of Black display with monitor power button light blinking
even if i just turn UPS on before turning CPU power on, the same msg i get.
When my CPU get sleep or idle sleep, it gives same msg But when i wake mouse it behaves normal,
this problem is not creating any issue while using PC,
it behaves normal after sleep (mouse wake)

also i noticed that my Monitor is known as "Generic Non-Pnp Monitor" in resolution property. (but in gtx 760 i got monitor name properly)i tried to update monitor drivers, but it says "already up to date" so im not able to install it.
i also tried to install windows but still no solution,

Probably because you're hijacking someone's thread...just saying. And that issue you're talking about doesn't seem like it's an issue. The new card probably turns off the port when it goes to sleep to save power. It's not like it doesn't come back up it just shows the message that there's no connection. But that's fine because as soon as you move the mouse it turns back on, right? Sounds like a first world problem.
