Problem with email and printer

I'm having a problem between my email and my printer.
Whenever I try to respond to any links in my email instead of connecting to the link, it tries to print.
I have been going crazy and have tried everything I can think of, short of reformatting and re-installing O/S.
I am using a brother all-in one device.
For email I have tried using Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird Mail, and Hotmail. It does not make any difference.
Here is what I have tried;
Uninstalled and re-installed printer software and driver.
Did the same with email programs.
Physically disconnected printer.
Used System Restore.
Used Windows Repair Utility.
cmd: chkdsk.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
