Problem with folder option in windows 7

Hello,
as you remember, in XP, you can customize folder view and sort and then you can apply that to All folders, and you see all folders by that settings.
but in windows 7 i try that and the result not applied to all folders, while i want to apply these settings to ALL folders view.
i need your help, please

Go to control panel and click on folder options and then click on How do I change Folder Options This will tell you how to do it as follows:

To apply the current view setting to other folders
While browsing folders in the Computer folder, you can apply the current view setting to all folders on your computer that are optimized for the same content as the folder you have open. For instance, the My Pictures folder is optimized for picture files. If you open this folder and change the view to Large Icons, you can apply the Large Icons view to every folder that's optimized for pictures. (This setting does not apply when viewing files and folders using libraries.)

Open a folder, click the arrow next to the Views button on the toolbar, and choose a view setting.

On the toolbar, click Organize, and then click Folder and search options.

In the Folder Options dialog box, click the View tab, click Apply to Folders, click Yes, and then click OK.

Tip
To change the type of file that a folder is optimized for, right-click the folder, click Properties, click the Customize tab, click a file type in the Optimize this folder for list, and then click OK.

hai..,, a very good evening..!!! This is kalyani..

I have got a problem on how to change my folder options settings.. Actually the thing is i myself doesn't know how do i changed my setting for folder options ->file types->file folder settings... i want them to get back to their default settings..but i tried many times to resolve that problem but no use.. My folders are opening as VLC media players..and i tried other alternatives to set back my previous settings with OPEN as a new option so..now the usual option OPEN is also not working properly...

hope you will help me to get out of this problem....
