Hi,I recently moved to france. and i tried gaming on my hostel wifi as well as my mobile hotspot.
The thing is I randomly get disconnected from the game in a few minutes.
When i use mobile hotspot ,when i get disconnected from the game ,i see that i get disconnected to the mobile hotspot for 2-3 seconds.

I tried reinstalling windows,Drivers and everything but no use.
generally late at night 2:am or something i could play uninterruptedly but i cant in day time .

I cant figure out whats the problem.if it would have my hostel wifi then things should work properly on my 4g mobile hotspot.

Can anyone help?

Solution
It is likely too many people like you setting up there own hotspots and other wifi equipment. Even if everyone just used the hostel wifi there are a lot of people sharing that.

Wifi is becoming almost unusable in high density living conditions. The amount of wifi bandwidth available has not changed in almost 20 years. Although the equipment has become much more effective it also has used more bandwidth per connection rather than less. A single user will attempt to use 2/3 of the 2.4g or about 1/2 the 5g bandwidth.

I see no solution to this problem since it is unlicensed and everyone can use all they want.

If you get reasonable connectivity via your hotspot try to use a USB tethered connection instead. The mobile broadband runs on licensed frequencies so the connection to the cell tower tends to not be interfered with as much. Not sure how france works but in the usa data gets expensive on a tethered connection or else they slow you down to almost unusable if you hit a limit.

OK ,i will try using my mobile data via USB.

I used usb.
I connected my phone to the wifi and then i connected my phone to my laptop via USB. I see no disconnects!

Very surprising but wifi is almost magic when it comes to what works and doesn't work for different people. Implies the wifi nic in your pc is not as good as the one in the phone but what you would replace it with is going to be a guessing game.
