Have been playing UT for years without a hitch then one day ... it won't let
me play in full screen. ??? I just get a message to adjust frequency. It
will let me play in a box, but not fullscreen. I'm stumped. Have a voodoo
3 3500 card that works fine in every other way. Didn't make any changes or
upgrades to speak of. Help woul;d be appreciated.

p2 350
win98
v3 35500 card
384 mb ram

Thanks for any suggestions.

Your vid card thinks that you're trying to run UT in a resolution that
the vid card can't support. Either you've changed the resolution in
UT, or you've changed a setting in your vid card. Try running UT at
the same resolution as your desktop and see what happens.

It seems as though you have most of the minimum requirements to run
the game except maybe hard drive space! :-( How big is your HD?
It takes a minimum of 120mb of free HD space to run the game.
I'm running UT on an even older Voodoo2 with Glide and it runs
great for me!.

I went to Atari Support to see what they had to say about the
problem and I will post links to what I found:

What is giving you this message? What is the *exact* message?

> It will let me play in a box, but not fullscreen. I'm stumped.

I can imagine.

What version of the game do you have? What have you set there as your
refresh rate? See UnrealTournament.ini for that.

Sorry about that dude! I recently subscribed to a new news server
and I'm still trying to get used to it. I sent the message the
first time and Xnews said "Done, waiting for confirmation", but
the window never closed out like it usually does, so after a few
minutes of waiting for it, I manually closed it and re-tried to
send the message only to have it do the same thing several times.
I thought it didn't post the message but apparently it did!. The
combination of my ISP and this new news server are sluggish
sometimes.

That's why I like having my own little fetchnews server. No matter
what "real" news server I use, my fetchnews stays the same.
