problem with gaming and graphic card

my elder brother has a sony vaio vpceh26en laptop , since he has updated his windows he has getting an issue with games that is an error😱ut of video memory please restart your pc occurs ,he has windows 7 ultimate 64bit ,intel core i3 2330m 2.20ghz, nvidia geforce 410m 512mb, 4gb ram. he has updated the gfx drivers also (many times). the laptop's out of warranty. please help !

Does this happen on specific games or just games in general? It seems as though your graphics card could be running out of VRAM (Video RAM) to run the game, VRAM is like normal ram but dedicated to your graphics card to run the game, it basically acts the same as normal ram. Since you have updated the drivers perhaps run the game on lower settings to see how that works.

its happening on all games even on those which worked perfectly before the update and dedicated virtual ram is ok
