Hello,

I have a Gigabyte HD 2600 PRO that no longer works. I have already replaced it with a GTS 250 from nVidia, but I still would like to know if the HD 2600 can still be fixed.

It worked fine untill at some point it decided to turn on me ;) . At first I just had trouble booting up the computer. It would get to the boot beep and then, nothing more. It wasen't the usual one beep but one long and three short one's (if i remember correctly) which already hinted towards a graphics problem. Suddenly i noticed that when i put my hand down next to the case (as my case sits on my desk) the vibration of that action caused the screen to black out. After a few seconds it did come back on with a message saying that the display driver had crashed but that it had been repaired (yay lol). And then after a while of more of the same, the card made the computer completly unable to boot (all the fans were working but no HD activity and just a black screen). Maybe an important detail, the card is passively cooled.

I checked and rechecked if the card was properly plugged in aswell as the PCIe16 socket and it seems fine, especially since my GTS 250 works without any problem in the same socket :kaola: . I also un-installed and re-installed the latest drivers.

Anyone else here have had the same problems or knows what the problem could be? Any possible solutions?

Thanks in advance...
