Problem with Hard Drive

I have a My Passport Slim 1TB, it worked great and never had a problem until a couple of days ago. My computer recognizes that a USB Mass Storage Device is connected, when I open device manager there's a yellow exclamation mark. It says I have a driver problem but when I try to update it, my computer says that it is up to date. The only thing I could think of is that before it happened, I renamed the drive "The Drive" on a school computer. It's not listed next to the C: and DVD icons like it usually is. In Device Manager it's not listed under Drives so I can't re-assign a drive letter. I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro, but I've also tried it on 3 school computers that run Windows 7 Enterprise. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi there austinjpersonal,

If you have the same issue after you try the HDD on different computers, I would suggest you to try a different USB cable. A faulty cable might be a reason for this yellow exclamation mark.

Hope this will help,
