Problem with Hardware or Software

The situation is this, my dvd's run smoothly with no problem for 4 minutes. Then, by the end of the four minutes, my sound goes out. This ALWAYS happens. I'm using Powerdvd and i tried it with two different dvd's. i'm pretty certain this is b/c of software but i'm affraid this might be b/c of hardware. Any suggestions?

Powerdvd dies this if it is a copied program, I think you need to register it or else you can only watch the first 5 mins of something.

What version of Power DVD are you using? Does it detect your video card and sound card correctly?
