Question Problem with HDD when PC comes out of sleep

I installed a Seagate 1TB HDD to replace a failing WD drive. It's just used for storage in a windows 7 desktop. Everything worked fine for a few days but now every time the computer wakes from sleep the autoplay comes up and the computer lags. Never seen this before. Any ideas?

Yes, the Autoplay box comes up. But I think the drive is bad. It's not a new drive. It was originally used as my C drive for about 4 years until I replaced it with an SSD about a year ago. It worked fine when it was the system drive but I wonder if it being used for 4 years and then sitting on the shelf for a year ... maybe it just tuckered out. As I mentioned, everything was fine for a few days and then it just started giving me this problem last night.
