problem with ide cables hard drive and cd drive

alright i mad a new pc for my sister

but i cant get in because the ide channel and cable is not working its not identifying the hard drive and dvd player

is there a solution on how to fix this it seems i tryed evreything but it just wont work

also i tryed switch to an othere ide cable but same thing happend

Replace IDE cable with new one. It happens when you accational remove the HDD or CD-rom. Or convert them to SATA. There are IDE to SATA coverter. But for sure replace them with new one. ")

On some asrock boards you have to have the hard drive and cd/dvd drives running off of separate ide ports. Could be the case with your board as well.

The jumper must be slave to the other one and master to the other. Or try using atleast 1 of them. Maybe 1 device is defective or your PSU cant powerup them both.

The ide to sata or sata to ide converter usually made from hongkong or shall we say China. I don't know if you can find that on Canada. It costs less than us$10.
