Hi, I upgraded from an HP Omen 15 (4800h, 2060) to an Alienware M15 R6 (11800h, 3070), the thing is that I have two Kingstone 2TB M2 NVME in the HP and when I put them in the Alienware, only the one with multimedia and data appears (the other one with windows 10 installation doesn't show up), I changed them carefully and they don't have much use, I change the slots and both are working but only recognizing the info M2, put back in the HP and the Bios is not showing the windows M2 unit now, anyone know what I can try to fix this issue?

Are these to be secondary drives?
How many M.2 ports does the alienware have?

What is the protocol for these M.2 ports?
NVMe, SATA, both/either?
The one with Windows 10 was the primary, both the alienware and HP have two m2 nvme slots

Protocol?
They're NVME, both are the same model 😉

I have the one with fhd 360hz
The m2 of the Alienware worked with no problem when i put it on the Omen, the alienware have two slots for m2 with the cooper
Sometimes switching OS drives works, sometimes it fails badly.
Luck in one direction does not guarantee luck in the other direction.

M.2 ports are general connectivity. Not all of them are storage ports, and not all those are NVMe.
You need to know what yours is.

Why not just do it the easy way, and just install whatever applications you use on the new system?
Instead of all this moving around.

The thing is that I want to do a clean install of windows but I can't because of the problem lol, when i switch the m2 that is working in the alienware m2 ports it works in both of them, but the other one is not recognized in the Alienware or the HP, before it was running without any issue, there's something I can try or do to see if the m2 still work?, both kingstone m2 are the same model

Also, this OS install needs to happen with only ONE drive connected.
Install the other one later.

Already tried, not working too

Possibly one of the drives is dead?
Working 5 minutes ago is no guarantee of working now.

Put the original drives back in the original laptops.

What happens?

Boot from your OS install USB, and install.
I read in the dell forum that my Alienware have two slots, one gen4 up to 2tb and another gen3 up to 1tb max, y put both 2tb units, there's is the posibility that I damaged the m2?

Damage to the ports?
Unlikely.
To the 2tb m2, I continued reading and there was one user wo can put 2tb m2 in the same model, idk what go wrong, now I put the faulty m2 in the slot and it is getting hot really fast, I'm assuming that it is damaged, but i'm kinda scared if this repeat with another m2 in the alienware, any suggestion?, btw, thx for the answers
