Problem with MicroSD card in RAW format

I have a 16 GB SanDisk MicroSD card that is currently in the RAW file system and it somehow shows that I have only 31 MB on it. There's no lock to it but says that it is write protected...I have followed instructions on how to do it via the registry...still to no avail. I can't format it. I've tried the command prompt...it is also unable to do anything. Disk management doesn't do anything also. Formatting via explorer also.

Thanks.

If you have no luck with a different computer/device as well, unfortunately this might mean that the flash drive has failed. It's not uncommon for a USB flash drive or a memory card to lock itself and become write protected when it becomes faulty. I'd recommend that you try to get a replacement (RMA it) if it's under warranty.
Hey there, ITnonsavy.

You can still try removing the write protection via CMD (from what I understand you've only tried to format it via CMD). Take a look at part 2 from this tutorial: http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection. Other than that, I'd suggest that you try the pen drive with a different computer/device and try to format it again to see if that helps. You could also try to do that via the manufacturer's format tool (most of the memory cards and USB flash drives manufacturers offer such tools), to see if that fixes things up.

Please let me know how it goes.

I've tried all the methods on that site but they don't work. SanDisk's formatting tool doesn't work either.
