Hello, thanks for reading and excuse my english.

First of all, my hardware is:
i7 7700k
RX480 (latest crimson drivers)
Monitor Viewsonic XG2401 connected via DisplayPort

I play CS:GO and i want to set mi video resolution at 1280x960 144hz 4:3 with black bars. For some reason, CSGO doesnt show it as an option, showing 1280x1024 instead, wich is actually 5:4.
BUT if i set that resolution (1280x1024), CSGO treats it as if it actually were 4:3!! So black bars eat some pixel from both sides, shrinking resolution width!!!

Then, for some strange reason, 1280x960 is being replaced as a 4:3 option for 1280x1024. But at the same time 1280x1024 is being cut by a 4:3 black bar scissors!!

Ideally I would like to have 1280x960 as an option, but I would also settle for 1280x1024 if i could have it displayed as 4:5. Any of the two options would suit me. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

1280x960 at 144 isn't supported.

I dont know where did you find that information but I can assure you that its wrong. In fact im currently at 1920x1080 144hz (windows), and i also play at 1920x1080, 1280x1024 and 1024x768 all at 144hz. This is fact, so that information is not correct.

EDIT: i saw where did you find that, its from the manufacturesrs user guide. Is unbelievable but its actually wrong. In fact, look that they sell the monitor as 144hz gaming but in that sheet 144hz isnt supported. So something is indeed wrong with their manual jeje

EDIT 2: apparently this was the way to fix this problem moths ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbbXqixdT7g

But now new amd crimson relive drivers doesnt have that manu any more, instead theres anotherone that doesnt allow to set any custom resolution at all
