Problem with mointor

For some reason my monitor started making this annoying clicking sound when ever the computer is shut off, But is fine when the computer is on, and it never use to do this, any one got any ideals what may be causing this ?

Sounds like the monitor is about to die, or it's just experiencing normal thermal expansion. If the clicking happens for only a short time when the monitor powers down, it's just thermal expansion, much like the creaking of houses at night or the bangs you hear from pipes after taking a shower. If it happens whenever the monitor is on standby, it's a failing power supply.

I get that, but what is the MONITOR state? Is it standby, on (no cable connected or something like that), or completely off?

What about when you let the computer turn off the monitor?
