i just got my Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix DirectCU II OC HDMI DP 2xDVI 4GB and i put it in the chassi and installed the drivers and everything. I got the division and far cry primal with it. Then when i start the division my monitor turns black it doesent turn off just can't get a signal from the pc and i can't do anything but restart the computer. I check the fans from the graphics card they dont spin. I heard that it is supposed to not spin when not used. Can anyone help me?

Solution
For People that has this problem with this card my solution was that i used Asus GPU Tweak and changed the GPU boost clock to 1153 and now it works totally fine with no problems and my screen dosent turn black or anything.
I had this same problem and I solved it by removing the hdmi cable and placeing it back on the monitor,,,simple fix,,,if you are running the game at one resolution and the monitor is on a different resolution on some rare games it could become a headache. Good luck sir! Keep me posted im curious as to what the trouble is.

Thank you guys for your help but i actually got it to work finally. I had to controll my gpu fans manually because my psu isn't compatible with my gpu. It was burning hot and went black screen.

DP CANNOT DO 144 HZ. if Nvida Control Panel changes it for you please change the Hz to 60. Otherwise whenever you start a game your will get a black screen with sound which you cant escape unless you reboot the computer. You can't ALT+Tab or ALT+CTRL+ Delete to get yourself out.

The only way i was able to fix it was use a hdmi cable to utilize 144hz or just stay at 60 HZ.

Found out there allot of new GPU Cards that may do this when updating drivers via the Nvidia Control Panel. There are probably a whole bunch on this forum that are having the same problem.

After 20min of gameplay my psu made strange noise and the black screen poping up again... I have a corsair cx600 with a modo asus P8L77. I bought my graphics card yesterday...

Can i try anything before turning in the graphics card back. I am really hyped för the division and i really don't want to send it back.

That doesn't make sense. Describe how the PSU was incompatible. Did you not plug in the PCIe cables?
