Question Problem with my gpu/monitor

I recently bought gtx 1050 and new monitor but i didnt have dvi cable so i bought adapter from vga to dvi because it was cheaper than the cable. Few days since i bought it, my monitor loses signal for about 2 seconds and then it turns back on. It happens multiple times, sometimes more, sometimes less, it doesnt bother me that much but i want to see if i can fix the problem. Thanks for help!
