problem with my H100i v2 and CPU cooling

HI guys, so I built my first PC yesterday and after booting up, installing app, windows, etc, everything was perfectly fine and working as intended except for my cooler and the temp. I followed the instruction, the cooler is lighting up inside my case but the cooler fans aren't turning and my pc temp Hit 67C while I was installing some low data apps like spotify or skype....

Also, I keep hearing the windows device connect/disconnect notification sound each 10 seconds, so I looked up in my devices and I kept seeing the corsair USB appearing and disappearing, is this because of the corsair link usb cable ? ( the link app was showing me my CPU was at 120C LOL which is impossible...)

So I was wondering if I installed my cooler the wrong way ? I will step back what I did:

- installed the cooler on top of my ryzen 2600x with the AM4 socket since I have a x470 gaming plus ( I reapplied thermal paste and cleaned the one that was pre applied)
- installed the radiator and the 2x fans as exhaust on top of my case
- now it's where im not 100% sure, I connected the cooler power cable to the CPU_FAN. After there is a "Y" cable that comes off the Corsair cooler, So I connected 2x cooler fans to the Y cable.

I even looked the manual and everything seem to be in order, but I looked at my fans when I was installing apps and the case fans were working fine ( 1 intake installed on the SYS_FAN2 and 1 exhaust installed in te SYS_FAN4) but the 2x cooler fans were not turning at all and I kept hearing the annoying device connect/disconnect sound...

Need your help on this!! thanks a lot :)

At this point, we just need to know if it's the Y-splitter. If you have a CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT header use those. The problem with suing other fan headers is that they don't throttle up properly when the cpu gets too hot. You could change fan curves, but then the entire system would be permanently noisy.

Can you plug in one fan to a fan header you know works without using the Y-splitter. If it spins, move on the the CPU fan header and test again. If it spins this time, it's the Y-splitter that is the issue and you need to get another one. If it doesn't spin the first test, it's the fan, although I see this as unlikely given you're having the issue with both. Good luck!

can I connect one of my cooler fan to the PUMP_FAN and the other one to a SYS_FAN ?

perfect, I will try that tonight.

but what about my device connect/disconnect sound ? it's really annoying and I'm suspecting it's the usb link, or could it be the fans ?

There is a chance it's the USB connection into the motherboard. Unplug everything from the computer and plug in a USB mouse/keyboard into the rear USB port (directly into the motherboard). If the noise stops, it's the front I/O USB connection. If it doesn't, it's A) A system bug with drivers, or B) a motherboard USB connection (B is much less likely though). Let me know the results!

I disconnected every USB from my PC and the sound is still playing. I'm almost sure it's the corsair Link USB. it's also weird because the link app is giving me false temperature, I doubt my PC CPU is at 120c... it would completely burn.

I will try to plug the USB to a different header, right now it's on usb4, i will try usb 3
I would also want to update my motherboard driver but im not sure how to do it.

To update the driver:
Windows Key + X
Click Device Manager
Double Click 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'
Right click on each one and click 'Update Drivers'
Select 'Search automatically for driver'
If it says to update, update, else it will say the best drivers are already installed.

By the sounds of it, you may be correct with corsair link. Uninstall it to see if the noise stops. If it does try to reinstall but if it starts again just get rid of it for good.

Good diagnostic steps. You'll also want to check your bios and make sure the cpu_fan header is on. Try setting it to manual mode and set it to 100% and see if the fans spins. If the fans are too loud, lower it to 50% and see if cooling is good enough at 50%.

not sure of what you meant.

do you mean red, green and blue ? My corsair logo is switching colors, goes blue, sometimes red. I didn't watch it enough to tell you if it goes green.

My cooler is connected to the CPU_FAN for power.

pretty sure the V2 has 1 usb. I followed the manual and it was 1 usb and 1 CPU_FAN with a "y" cable

the "Y" connector cable ? I could try to plug all the fan separately on my motherboard ?
