I just bought a VisionTek AMD Radeon HD 7750. I did everything step by step; uninstalled the old driver, turn it off, open it up, put 'er in, loaded the computer...

when i went to install the new drivers, everything started smoothly. A couple minutes into the installation process, my monitor went blank, and went into power save mode. I initially thought it was just part of the install process, but after 15 minutes, it still didn't come back on. I switched out monitors, and input method. When i first plugged the second monitor in, it showed me my desktop, but 15 seconds later, it too went into power save mode. I then restarted the computer, and everything seemed like it was fine. I checked out my new windows rating and let out a shout of approval. Then I loaded Tomb Raider, and decided to change some of the settings. I tried out one configuration, but decided i didn't like it, so i didn't keep the settings. The screen then went blank, as if to change resolution, but never came back on. Once it switched to a green screen, but then back to black.

I was told that I would be fine with this GPU in my computer, so was it just a bad driver install, or is this card just not compatible? PLEASE HELP!!!

First: did you ever make a backup? Always a good idea before you make radical changes in your setup.

Next: can you boot up in safe mode? If you can you can droll back the settings to the last known working configuration.

The card should work. The problem is with the drivers. Get a working setup and back it up. Then try different settings or drivers.
