Problem with my PC

I was trying to install Windows xp with sp2, in my computer. But when I was installing it showed an error msg as follows :

Setup was unable to format the partition. the disk may be damaged, make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to your computer. if the disk is a scsi disk, make sure your scsi devices are properly terminated. consult your computer manual or scsi adapter documentation for more information you must select a different partition for windows xp.

My PC configuration are:

250GB Hard Disk,
1GB RAM
Mother Board Intel

Pl tell me how can I install Windows xp.

sounds like the hard disk was your orgional problem.... or your ram has a fault..

but this is usually down to the hard disk...

It will need to be replaced..
