Problem with NEC projector

I'm having a problem with a projector. This is a NEC model M260X and the problem is beginning to project in dark red color. It fluctuates between a normal white projection to a darker, reddish projection which makes the image very difficulty to see. Any idea's on how to fix it

I wonder if the bulb is going out. (It could be something else, but I strongly suspect the bulb.)

BAD NEWS: Bulbs for projectors are ridiculously expensive.
